After watching the New Giants face the Washington Redskins yesterday, there are two thoughts that come to mind:
The Giants are still in the hunt for a playoff spot at 8-6 now with a 45 to 12 beatdown of the Redskins. They jumped out to a 24 to nothing lead by halftime. With the win, the G Men are now one game behind the Dallas Cowboys for a playoff spot. They showed that they still have life and are a team that is hopefully going to build on this success coming down the stretch in the final two weeks of the season.
As far as the Redskins are concerned, they are one of a bunch teams that have major issues to address this coming offseason. They have a new GM in Bruce Smith, who is likely to make a laundry list of changes. You can expect a new head coach to be in place next season, possibly Mike Shanahan. There's the quarterback issue with Jason Campbell, who will be a free agent at season's end. Will he come back? It is going to be a long offseason in the nation's capital.
