Major League Baseball Will Implement New Home Plate Collision Rule this year.
Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association have agreed to implement an experimental rule that would ban home plate collisions.
I gotta say that I’m on the fence with this issue.
Plays at the plate have always been part of the game.
On the other hand I definitely see where the league is coming from in terms of doing what is in the best interests of baseball and protecting players from possible collisions.
