Small Ball Report-January 19

SCIAC Conference

Men's Basketball:

Huston Conti of Occidental College named SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week.  The Senior Guard Conti led the Tigers to another 2-0 week as he averaged 18 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game while dishing out 9 assists and coming away with 3 steals.

Women's Basketball:

Occidental 72, La Sierra 41

Stephanie Babij of Occidental College named SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week.  The Junior Forward averaged a double-double this week as the Tigers opened up SCIAC play with a 1-1 record.  She posted 24 points and 11 rebounds in the Tigers 62 to 53 victory over Pomona-Pitzer.  Overall, Babij averaged 17 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game to go along with 5 offensive boards.

GSAC Conference

Men's Basketball:

Junior Reggie Owens of Azusa Pacific named GSAC Men's Player of the Week.  Owens averaged 15 points per game, 7 rebounds per game and had 3 assists as Azusa Pacific won both of its GSAC games last week.

Women's Basketball:

Junior C.J. Hill of Azusa Pacific named GSAC Women's Player of the Week.  Hill scored 40 points on 13-18 shooting, including 7-10 from three-point range, and 7-9 from the free throw line as No. 12 Azusa Pacific won both of its conference games last week.  She also dished out 12 assists, had 4 steals and grabbed 2 rebounds.  She also scored a career-high 22 against Fresno Pacific.

ECHL Hockey

Ontario Reign 2, Stockton Thunder 4.  Next game is on Friday against the Utah Grizzlies in Utah on Saturday.
