Yankees Acquire Javier Vazquez

The Bronx Bombers have acquired pitchers Javier Vazquez and Boone Logan from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Melky Cabrera.  Vazquez previously played for New York in 2004.

Hideki Matsui Deal Official

Matsui will officially become an Angel today with a press conference scheduled for 2 p.m.  Once again, the deal is worth $6.5 million for one year.

Angels Pursuing Hideki Matsui

The Angels reportedly are in serious talks with free agent outfielder/DH Hideki Matsui according to ESPN.com's Jayson Stark.  If the deal happens, Matsui would most likely replace Vladimir Guerrero as the team's DH.

Update: According to ESPN's Buster Olney via Twitter the deal is official.  It is worth about $6.5 million for one year.
